I just had my 12" Powerbook stolen from me last week and my insurance company is paying for an equal replacement or if one isn't available, the next thing up. Looks like a 15" MBP is the next thing up! Going from a 1.33GHz G4 to a C2D MBP is just a plain silly upgrade. I'm out $1000 from a deductible, but that's quite the upgrade for $1000. I'd say it was worth the theft except the fact that my car got busted up as well.

*crosses fingers*

It's true, as far I know. I told you guys verbatim what I was told. If he is lying I will be just as disappointed as you. I don't know why he would lie to me, I used to work with him, and he's best friends with the store director. So, we just have to wait and hope that tomorrow brings us joy.

That�s the case I have (see my notes in post #44 of this thread). It�s not �sticky� so no problems grabbing dust or lint...at least I haven�t had any problems that way.

My only concern is that it�s not as snug top to bottom as it should be. Not so loose it�s going to slip out, but feels like there�s a little play in it when you push the power button off and on.

We're very used to using a mouse, but it's definitely not the most natural way to interact with a computer. It's not easy either. I've seen old people that never could figure out how to double click without moving the cursor 50 pixels from where they wanted to click.

If a clip needed processing before it could be played back in real time (like if you've added an effect to it, or it was in an un-native format, you had to 'render' the clip, and Final Cut couldn't be used until the render had finished. If you are a professional editor like me, this going is a BIG plus.

ok, YOU listen to "our side" of the story now!!!!! The point is, apple is NOT dying, they do not need saving, blah blah blah. just read the 100 posts above mine explaining this to you, but you refusing to listen. If you want apple to do better, then think that and leave the rest of us alone. I myself wouldn't mind having more of my contacts using a mac so i wouldn't have to do tech support for them all the time, but then again, that would cut down on people who force money on me for it.

France actually opened the subject of the no fly zone before the US & the UK.

As for other European nations, they fired and are still firing their weapons in the region, with the US forces.

The US, as the UK & France, have major interests in the region (oil, weapons, influence and such), hence the need to be there to protect these assets.

The 1st Wave and AltNation channels are some of the biggest drivers for my iTunes purchases actually. "Oh, yeah! I remember that song back in college! [writes note on hand while swerving through traffic]"

Not much good to me where I am now (although I can verify that I can get the Sirius online stream cuz I have a US acct) but I wouldn't be able to buy a new one here anyway... Maybe trade some porn with donkeys for one "liberated" from Saudi or something with the locals, but that seems less than ethical and would get me in some trouble most likely.

It's the cost and convenience that will determine how successful iTS downloads are. I would hope for DVD quality (including surround sound).

One day I'll have a HD screen and I'll be wanting to use a HD service.. so it'd be good for Apple to have a plan there for that :)
